Jamie Lynn Gabbard Memorial Scholarship
The Saline Home Builders Association sponsors the Jamie Lynn Gabbard Memorial Scholarship which is awarded to a qualified student each year. Preference is given to students who are children or grandchildren of a current SHBA members and who is pursuing a degree in a construction related industry or trade. The scholarship is for $1,500 per year payable at the rate of $750 per semester and is renewable each year provided the student maintains a 2.50 grade point average on a minimum of twelve semester hours at an accredited college, university, junior college, trade or vocational school or other educational organization. The scholarship recipient will be chosen based on the following criteria: Graduate of high school in Saline County, Arkansas; financial need; proven leadership ability; good moral character; minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average; ACT score of 18 or above or equivalent SAT score.

The 2015 Scholarship was awarded to Josiah Sprout, a graduate of Bryant High School who will be attending the John Brown University in the fall where he will seek a degree in construction management. Ray and Lenore Gabbard are the founders of the scholarship.
